News snippets:
21 June: What a busy show at Sandown and hot weather too! We have just 3 spaces left on the Antique Flower Garden Block of the month following a rush on it at Sandown, so if you have been thinking about this beautiful quilt then please call us quick to reserve your space on it. This will be the last time we offer this quilt as we cannot get any more of the fabrics uses, so we would hate you to miss out on it.
17 June: On Monday the first half of our new Taupes order arrive to Heathrow, and as of 5pm today, several more cartons have arrived, but one has gone AWOL. The airline have not been forthcoming with where is is, but its somewhere between Japan and Heathrow. Its hard for your to imagine, but airfreight generally ships exactly to plan from Japan (America now thats a whole other story) so we hope that the one carton arrives tomorrow, otherwise the freight company are looking at delivery what has arrived, rather than waiting for the final lot of fabric, as we are so desperate to have it in stock to get the Taupe Block of the Month Quilts cut and sent out.
16 June: For the past few weeks Shirley has been working on completing the new Quilters Cottage quilt, its beautiful and I hope to get a picture of it up next week on the website, those lucky to go to Sandown will want to stop and see it on our stand as its really delicious. If you loved Journey of a Quilter then you will love this one too!
15 June: Our new Friends for Christmas block of the month is proving very popular, we have had lots of sign up since Malvern so be in quick if you have been thinking about it, We have all the fabric in stock now to get the first month our early, as we had planned it for July, but it will now go out in late June, due to so many customer requests for an earlier start.
11 June: Today a large order of Art to Heart farbics arrive in, they are really yummy and the Art to Heart club will be receiving these over the next few months. We also have the wonderful new Art to Heart Books in I Believe and Believing Tree book. They are lovely - I know its summer but always time to think about Christmas projects.
8 June: Today several new quilts went off to the Isabel Halls for long arm quilting,I can't wait to see them finished, and with some long nights stitching we should have the binding on them ready to show you at Sandown.
5 June: Today and tomorrow we are all set up like a store, for our lovely customers to come and visit and of course shop. Murray put up our new quilt rail last night, and we have been able to hang lots of lovely quilts on the wall. Its so nice to see them hanging, rather than folded up
1June: I always think that 1 June is summer, so happy summer! The flowers are blooming, and birds singing and my dog loves it - lots of wonderful summer smells to sniff on her walk. We are starting on postings for June clubs, the Taupe quilts will all go out late this month, as we are eagerly awaiting the delivery of our almost 2000 metres of Japanese fabrics. But the majority of others are well underway already.
27 May: Gosh, where has May gone, we have almost got our new postal system under control. Its so exciting to be able to go direct with Royal Mail and have post paid on all our envelopes, rather than having to have a franking machine. But as with all new things its taken us time to get used to it.
22 May: I have finally come up for air logging in all the new Block of the Month customers, Friends for Christmas, Quilters Cottage, Heart and home and Batik Beauty are officially the favourites of the show.
18 May: Malvern was really great, it was so good to see so many customers. As expected Vintage Valentine starter kits sold out. Our hot sellers were the lovely White Taupe Fabrics, lakehouse and lots of block of the Month quilts as well as the lovely Bow Tucks Bag.
15 May: Only a store owner could be as cheeky as us, but I saw a lovely towel rail in a store in Ledbury yesterday near Malvern on our way home, and so I phoned and asked if they would open late for us to come and shop. We have a wonderful time, and I found some lovely treasures to go with the towel rail that is going to look fabulous in our new workroom with quilts hung on it. Ledbury is a beautiful Black and White village and its really worth a visit.
12 May: We are all packed up to head off to Malvern, its so exciting and we are really looking forward to showing you all our new things
7 May: We have already sold several of the Vintage Valentine starter kits. We have now loaded the full details on the website - there is a link at the bottom of the page.

30 April: Today was our first open day in our new workroom. It was very exciting as it took as a long time to get our room looking pretty and ready forall the visitors. We were busy from opening through to after our closing time, so we know people had fun visiting us.
27 April: It seems like this month all we have thought about is the building work being completed and our move to our new cottage. But during all of this we have been working really hard to get all the block of the months out as well as all the orders and clubs.
20-24 April: The builders have been back to re-gravel the drive and edge the gardens, so guess what I will be doing all weekend - gardening!
14-16 April: The move days are finally here and guess what it poured with rain. Our drive was like a muddy river, with all the building work there is hardly any gravel left on the drive and so we had five of us making a chain gang so that no one stepped on the new carpet with dirty boots.
Just what you need during your move is 4 huge boxes of farbic to arrive - just where shall we put the new Avery adn lovely blue and reds.
4/5 April: Murray and Tom have been painting at all hours of the day and night to have the workroom ready for our move after easter. We are even going to repaint our shelves so everything looks nice and fresh.
30 March: The builders finsihed converting our double garage into our new workroom today! Yippee soon we will be able to move in and have you visit - just waiting for the plaster to dry now.
26 March: Today I have been teaching at Patchwork Passion in Auckland, NZ and it was great fun. A lovely group of ladies and they all enjoyed enjoyed making Japanese Taupe cushions and pin cushions. Robyn the owner runs our Block of the Months in her store and we spent several hours swapping ideas and I have some wonderful new patterns to bring back to the UK and we hope to release them at Malvern, they will be exclusive to us in the UK, so don't miss visiting us as they are really delicious!
18 March: We had a great show at Chilford and it was lovely to see so many of our customers. Tonight Emily and I are flying to NZ, my Nana who is almost 93 has been poorly and so we are having a quick visit to see her and the rest of our family. While there I will be doing some work on quilts and teaching at a store some of my Japanese designs.
12 March: Our stand is all set up and it amazes me, how our few square metres of blank spac, can turn itself into such a treasure trove of wonderful fabrics, kits and quilts for you all to see. We even have a new kit this week for the show a 'sweet treat bag' its very sweet in lovely red jacquards and japanese prints.
11 March: The van is loaded and we are all ready to set of for Chilford near Linton, Cambridge for the quilt show.
10 March: Lakehouse is now online - its really yummy and it was very popular at Exeter quitl show, so to where the lovely Japanese Jacquards, all fabric looks much better in real life on the web but we have already had orders from ladies who bought these fabrics at the show and now having worked out their projects are phoning up for more.
9 March: We are back from Exeter, and the van remains loaded up as we are off to Chilford on Thursday. So this week we are posting lost of block of the months and working on orders and the website.

Here's Jenny - busy cutting in our workroom.
2 March: Lakehouse fabrics have arrived in the UK and they hope to delivery them to us on Wednesday in time for us to take to Exeter.
Its hard to believe but I have just been ordering Christmas fabric and there are some absolutely yummy fabrics, now we can't wait for July when they arrive.
